I sometimes think of myself as a word collector or a knowledge collector. Either of those is a label I can live with, and after attaching one to my breast, I want to delve a bit.

Do I collect knowledge to limit myself or others? I used to, and now that I recognize that tendency, I’m working to overcome it, for isn’t that the opposite of what the pursuit of knowledge should be? I think I was searching for ways to make the world smaller, but I should have been looking for ways to make it bigger.
